Pearls of Power is a federal 501(c)3 tax exemption non-profit organization.

Pearls of Power (POP), in conjunction with Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, Delta Alpha Alpha Zeta Chapter, would like to welcome you to our Scholarship Submission Portal. Pearls of Power provides financial assistance through scholarships to benefit students in Collin County in order to obtain economic independence through educational achievement.

  • Applicant must be an African American currently seeking a post-secondary degree.

  • Must be a female.

  • Minimum age requirement is 25 years old.

  • Written essay/goals on plans seeking post-secondary degree.

 Is a $1,000 award for African American high school seniors in the Dallas-Fort Worth area who are aspiring to major in Fine Arts. 

Requirements

  •  Applicant must be an African American graduating senior in the Dallas-Fort Worth area who are aspiring to major in Fine Arts.

  • Applicant must submit a YouTube video showcasing talent.

  • Recent photo/headshot in the form of a PNG, JPG or PDF format.

  • 2 letters of recommendation from any of the following: High School Teacher/Administrator/Counselor, Community Leader, or Minister/Church Leader.  Recommendations should be addressed to Pearls of Power Scholarship Committee and contain a signature and contact information.

  • Must have a minimum unweighted GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 GPA scale.  An official high school transcript is required.

  • Virtual interview required.

Dr. Monigo Saygbay-Hallie: Lifting as We Climb Scholarship

  • Applicant must be a high school senior residing in Collin County.

  • Must have been accepted into a four-year accredited college or university. 

  • Must demonstrate involvement in community service or leadership activities.

  • Show At least 20 hours of community service over the 4 years in HS

  • Applicant must submit a 250-500 word essay.

  • Headshot in the form of a PNG, JPG or PDF format. 

  • 2 letters of recommendation from any of the following highlighting the applicant’s commitment to service: High School Teacher/Administrator/Counselor, Community Leader, or Minister/Church Leader.  Recommendations should be addressed to Pearls of Power Scholarship Committee and contain a signature and contact information.

  • Must have a minimum unweighted GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 GPA scale.  An official high school transcript is required.

  • Virtual interview required.

 Ida Mae Jenkins:"Believing in Your Greatness" Scholarship

The Ida Jenkins “Believing in Your Greatness” Scholarship honors a devoted single mother who sacrificed her own educational dreams to serve her children and community. Known for guiding others to resources and opportunities, Ida poured into the success of those around her. Through this scholarship, her belief in the greatness of others lives on.

Requirements: 

  • Applicant must be a graduating high school senior from a Texas based high school.

  • Applicant must have been born in or have resided in Louisiana for a meaningful period of time. Residency in Louisiana for a minimum of twelve consecutive months at any point prior to application deadline. 

  • Residency may be demonstrated through: school enrollment records, Proof of residence such as a utility bill, lease, or official correspondence in the applicant's or parent/guardian name, or a written statement confirming residency, if other documentation is not available

  • Applicant required to submit a short video essay.

  • Applicant SHOULD BE PURSUING a degree in Social Services or the Military.

  • Headshot in the form of a PNG, JPG or PDF format.

  • 2 letters of recommendation from any of the following:

    • High School Teacher/Administrator/Counselor, Community Leader, or Minister/Church Leader.  Recommendations should be addressed to Pearls of Power Scholarship Committee and contain a signature and contact information.

  • Must have a minimum unweighted GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 GPA scale.  An official high school transcript is required.

  • Applicant must demonstrate intent to pursue a degree or career pathway in Social Services or the Military.

 Kim Driscoll: "Do You See Me" Scholarship

The Kim Driscoll “Do You See Me” Scholarship honors a nurse, entrepreneur, and mentor who overcame early hardship to build a legacy of leadership and service. A single mother who rose to own multiple home health agencies, Kim was intentional about seeing and developing potential in others. This scholarship is named to honor who she became—not her struggles, but the impact she made and the lives she elevated.

 

Requirements:

  • Applicant must be a graduating high school senior in good academic standing.

  • Applicant must intend to enroll in an accredited college, university, or nursing program and pursue a degree in Nursing.

  • Applicant must submit brief video essay.

  • Headshot in the form of a PNG, JPG or PDF format.

  • 2 letters of recommendation from any of the following: Teacher or instructor, School Administrator, School Counselor or Academic Advisor, Healthcare Professional or Nurse Mentor, Employer or Supervisor, Community Leader or Program Director, Coach or Club Advisor, or Minister/Church Leader.   Recommendations should be addressed to Pearls of Power Scholarship Committee and contain a signature and contact information.

  • Must have a minimum unweighted GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 GPA scale.  An official high school transcript is required.

  • Virtual interview required.

  • Once applicant is awarded, Proof of Enrollment to College is required. All funds are paid directly to the college awardee is enrolled in. Award funds will be paid out in two installments.

LADJOBE PHI BETA

Two Awardees

The Ladjobe Phi Beta Scholarship was created in honor of the Jyles Family and its ties to the Sigma and Zeta family. Ashley, an attorney, and Steven, a general contractor both came from humble beginnings in small towns in Louisiana. Because of their blessed journey, they have chosen to follow in the steps of those that helped them along the way...family.  Whether it was through the bloodline or through the Blue and White Family, education was always a high priority.  The Jyles Family wants to help those that desire a higher education achieve just that.  

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Applicant must be an African American (male or female) graduating senior from a Texas area high school or a current college student with a permanent address in Texas.

  • Applicant required to submit a short video essay.

  • Applicant SHOULD BE PURSUING a degree in Criminal Justice, Pre-Law, Political Science, Welding, Construction Management, Architecture, or Structural Engineering.

  • Headshot in the form of a PNG, JPG or PDF format.

  • 2 letters of recommendation from any of the following: High School Teacher/Administrator/Counselor, Community Leader, or Minister/Church Leader.  Recommendations should be addressed to: Pearls of Power Scholarship Committee and contain a signature and contact information.

  • Must have a minimum unweighted GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 GPA scale.  An official high school transcript is required.

  • Virtual interview required.

Krystian Herrington Memorial Scholarship

$500

Krystian Herrington was a vibrant and dynamic young woman with a passion for music, video games, formal fashion, and animals. She graduated from Carrollton High School in Georgia in 2020. Krystian then enrolled at West Georgia College to pursue a degree in Business and Computer Design. Sadly, Krystian passed away at the age of 22. In her honor, her family has established a scholarship in her name to support students pursuing higher education. 

Requirements:

  • Applicant must be an African American (male or female) graduating senior from a Texas area high school located in the cities of Frisco, Fairview, Plano, Prosper or Allen.

  • Applicant must either attend an HBCU OR pursuing a degree in Business.

  • Applicant required to submit a short video essay.

  • Headshot in the form of a PNG, JPG or PDF format.

  • 2 letters of recommendation from any of the following: High School Teacher/Administrator/Counselor, Community Leader, or Minister/Church Leader.  Recommendations should be addressed to: Pearls of Power Scholarship Committee and contain a signature and contact information.

  • Must have a minimum unweighted GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 GPA scale.  An official high school transcript is required.

  • Virtual interview required.

Deadline

Completed Applications Must Be Received By March 6, 2026

Completed applications must be received by the application due date of Friday, March 6, 2026. Applications received after this date will NOT receive consideration for an award.

 

Applicants selected as finalists MUST complete a structured interview with the Scholarship Committee during the third or fourth week of March 2026. Finalists MUST attend the interview to be considered for an award.

Term

The information contained in the application (including all attachments) is deemed certified and accurate.  Any falsifications, incorrect information or misrepresentations of any kind will immediately deem the application ineligible for receipt of scholarship funds. If selected to receive any scholarship award, proof of enrollment to a college or university is needed in order for scholarship funds to be released. Proof of enrollment includes a schedule, or letter from the admissions office describing both an offer, and acceptance to the college or university, and/or orientation letter. This information shall be submitted to the Scholarship Chairperson of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated, Delta Alpha Alpha Zeta chapter via postal mail.
